| SPFO
is an all-volunteer, self-help organization that
is led and run by over 35 volunteers serving 69
families and 147 children. The organization is comprised
of an all-volunteer staff, board of directors, parent
leadership committee, community advisory committee,
and its members.
Member
Involvement There are many ways members can get involved and
are encouraged to participate at every level of
the organization. Parents who have benefited from
SPFO are encouraged to give back by helping others
in the program. One way they do this is by planning
and implementing specific services for our members.
Many serve on the Parent Leadership Committee
and participate on the following standing committees:
Birthday, Community Outreach Activities, Health
Education, Newsletter, Program, Summer Camp, Recreation,
and Youth.
Community Involvement Community members are very much needed and encouraged
to take part in either leadership or advisory
capacities, or direct participation in programs
and events. Here are some of the ways you can
participate, based on your individual talents
and interests:
• Community Advisory Committee

of the community and bring talents in program

• Urgent Needs
Finding a Home for SPFO: One
of the most pressing needs of SPFO is finding
a permanent home for the program. We currently
rent space once a month for programs and operate
out of private homes. We need help in seeking
out available real estate, either to rent or
purchase.
Website: We are looking for
technical maintenance support for our website.
Hot Meals: We are seeking
an organization that would be willing to purchase,
prepare and serve hot meals for our family meeting
on the first Saturday of every month.
